Searn Lynch, a former Lafayette County narcotics investigator, will plead guilty in federal court April 15, 2013, although it’s not clear to what charge. Lynch was chief of the Oxford/Lafayette County Metro Narcotics Unit before becoming an Oxford police detective. He is accused of a five-year scheme to acquire 831 doses of painkillers and other drugs from 17 different health care providers from 2007-2012.
